Lori Rubin is a Behaviour Management Specialist at the English Montreal School Board. She is the coordinator Project Harbour, an on-site teacher support program which provides teachers and specialists with hands-on practical strategies designed to diffuse and reduce acting out behaviours. Lori is a member of the EMSB Trauma Team and works closely with the board’s hundreds of Child Care Workers who support students with special needs and behavior problems.

Christian Dumais est professeur de didactique du français au Département des sciences de l’éducation de l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR). Ses travaux de recherche concernent principalement l’enseignement et l’évaluation de l’oral. Il s’intéresse également à la formation des maitres et au développement des compétences en littératie des élèves du préscolaire au secondaire. Christian Dumais fait partie de l’Équipe de Recherche en Littératie et Inclusion (ÉRLI) et est membre du CRIFPE.

Véronique Léger est détentrice, entre autres, d’une maitrise en linguistique – concentration didactique des langues – de l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Chargée de cours à l’Université de Montréal à la Faculté des sciences de l’éducation et à la Faculté de l’éducation permanente, elle est aussi formatrice. Elle va donc par monts et par vaux expliquer, à l’aide de démarches et de stratégies, le fonctionnement régulier de la langue dans des écoles, partout au Québec.

Conseiller pédagogique en intégration des technologies à la FEEP depuis 16 ans. Il a été membre du conseil d'administration de l'AQUOPS durant 7 ans dont 3 ans à titre de président.

Shira Loewenstein is the Associate Director for Teaching and Learning at the Yeshiva University School Partnership. There she runs the New Teacher Induction Program which she founded four years ago. She also runs the School Accreditation Program which offers schools around North America a YUSP accreditation. Shira also serves as a classroom teacher, teaching fifth grade mishnah at the Striar Hebrew Academy in Sharon, MA where she lives with her family.

Alon was born and raised in Beer Sheva. Alon is an experiential educator and manager focused on international exchange and leadership development. He served at the Israeli Special Forces, and is currently works as the Community Shaliach for Federation CJA. Alon received his B.A. in Policy & Management of Education from Ben-Gurion University. Alon currently resides in Montreal with his wife Shanie and their children.

Shanie was born and raised in Beer Sheva. After her military service, She worked as the teen leadership director in P2G, Beer Sheva – B’nei Shimon. She received her M.A. in Policy & Management of Education from Ben-Gurion University and is certified as a Jewish peoplehood Facilitator from "Beit Hatfutzot". She works as the Federation CJA’s Israel Engagement Initiative director. Shanie currently resides in Montreal with her husband Alon and their children.

Hilary Greenstone completed her Master's degree in Educational Psychology from McGill University. She has many years of experience coaching and working with children. She has also developed a parent education program, which teaches parents about parenting styles and mindsets and the best approaches for children to learn more successfully.

Carly Rosenzweig joined the BJEC team in 2010. She received her PhD in Special Education at the University of Miami. Also, from the University of Miami, Carly received her MS.Ed in Elementary Education specializing in inclusion and English Language Learners. Her current interests include Response to Intervention (RtI), data-based decision making, and bilingual language acquisition in early childhood.

Directrice du secondaire de l’Academie Hebraique, Dr. Segall est titulaire d'un doctorat en biochimie de l'Université McGill et d’un post-doctorat en Medecine Experimentale. Dr. Segall a été enseignante de mathématiques et de science, chef du département et directrice adjointe du secondaire. Elle a participé aux programmes de formation professionnelle au Principal Centre du Harvard Graduate School Education en Leadership et travail présentement envers une maîtrise en éducation.

Katherine is the Physical Education and Health Consultant at the English Montreal School Board. She has been involved with the Association of Physical Educators of Quebec for several years, serving the last two as President. Après avoir terminé ses études en éducation physique à McGill, elle a poursuivi une maîtrise en éducation physique à l’Université Memorial de Terre-Neuve, se concentrant sur les attitudes envers l’éducation physique des élèves aux primaire.

Visual Arts teacher at Hebrew Academy. Graduated from Concordia University. From Montreal. Back ground in Drama and Theatre technology and design and specializes in 3D visual arts and photography.

Tanya Evanson is an award-winning poet, performer, producer and educator. Active since 1996 in the Canadian literary and spoken word communities, she has published six books of poetry, three studio albums, one videopoem and has hundreds of feature performances under her belt. She is director of The Banff Centre Spoken Word program, a certified ESL teacher, at work with youth through the QWF and guest editor of the fall 2015 issue of Arc Poetry Magazine.

As a teacher at HFS, I teach Art in Gr 1- 6, Music Gr 4-6 and French to 3 and 4 year olds in CPE. In the past, I taught French in Kindergarten. I also work in the signage industry, with experience in CAD/CAM (Computer Assisted Design, Computer Assisted Manufacturing. En tant que professeur à HFS, j'enseigne l'art pour les 1ere à 6e années, la musique pour les 4e à 6e année et le français aux petits en CPE. Je travaille aussi dans l'industrie de l'affichage avec experience en CAD / CAM.

Titulaire d'une maitrise en Psychologie Clinique ( spécialité: les enjeux et le développement adolescent.), je travaille depuis 3 ans en tant que coordinatrice des services académiques à l'école Herzliah. Mon rôle en tant que tel est de coordonner les différents services offerts en orthopédagogie (section française, anglaise et études juives) au sein de l'école, permettant aux élèves en difficulté d'apprentissage un apprentissage différencié et adapté à leurs besoins.

Melanie partners with school teachers and leaders to plan and implement professional development programming that is dynamic, motivating, relevant, and honors the experience of our teachers. Melanie was born and raised in Montreal, attended Hebrew Foundation, Herzliah and graduated McGill with a masters degree in Jewish Studies. Melanie began her teaching career over 20 years ago as a classroom teacher in a Jewish day school in Northern VA.

I have been in the Education World for the past thirty three years, both as a teacher & as an Elementary Mathematics Consultant. I am an advocate of learning mathematics through a meaningful approach based on a strong understanding of the different concepts. Je suis une passionnée des mathématiques. Résoudre des problèmes, relever des défis tout en s'amusant, voilà ce que j'essaie de transmettre dans ma pratique.

Avital Aharon has worked as an educator in Jewish day schools in Toronto for the past 20 years. Avital holds a double Bachelors degree and a Masters of Education, a Special Education certification and Principals’ Qualifications. She has served as Technology Specialist, ET Coordinator, and Vice Principal at AHS in Toronto. Currently, Avital is the Director of Educational Technology and a central administrator at TanenbaumCHAT, Toronto’s distinguished Jewish high school.

Shari Stone received her Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University and was a recipient of the James McGill Scholarship Award. She has taught Language Arts and Mathematics throughout the grades at Solomon Schechter Academy for 25 years. Shari was actively involved in curriculum development and mapping. She was part of the S.S. A. team that guided teachers in differentiating instruction. Shari hopes to inspire lifelong readers and writers.

Martin a enseigné au primaire de 1998 à 2003. Il a co-fondé les Neurones atomiques il y a 11 ans afin de se spécialiser dans la communication scientifique. La science est pour lui un moyen de canaliser sa curiosité. Il accompagne les étudiants au Bac en enseignement de l’UQAM à travers l’Escouade science et des enseignants déjà en poste par le biais du projet APTES, toujours à l’UQAM. Il donne régulièrement des ateliers visant à démystifier l’enseignement des sciences au primaire.

Rich oversees the education and community-based work of CIE and ISMI, including developing curricula and lesson plans, and sharing strategies for teaching and their implementation. He engages the Atlanta Jewish community congregations, and Jewish communities across the nation with Israel education initiatives.

Eli manages ISMI’s and CIE’s internship programs; writes, researches and edits materials released by the Center; gives presentations at CIE workshops and conferences; and contributes to the day-to-day operations of the Center. Eli has been actively engaged in issues relating to Israel and the greater Middle East since the beginning of his undergraduate education at Evergreen in Olympia, WA. After receiving his BA in Middle East Studies and Political Economy in 2006.

Cheryl has been a Mathematics, Science and Technology Consultant for the last five years. Before embarking on her current journey, Cheryl taught high school Mathematics & Science in both the private and public sector and also worked as an evaluation consultant. Three years ago Cheryl was blessed with a special needs child. Her son's disabilities have helped her interpret the world with a different lens which has only helped her grow as a teacher.

Hannah Hershman & Clare Gabert both educators at St. Georges School of Montreal are passionate about the craft of writing. Between the two of them they offer more than 30 years of experience inspiring young writers. They have attended numerous workshops both here and the the US. Over the years they have given a variety of writing workshops for Elementary school teachers on various subjects such as: Artist Writers Workshop, Motivating Reluctant Writers, and The Art of the Reading Response.

Christiane, Josiane et Shella ont longtemps fait équipe à l'Académie Solomon Schechter. Chacune d'elles a créé des programmes de lecture, d'écriture et d'Art dramatique. Christiane et Shella ont publié aux Editions Mondia et l'Envolée. Josiane a assumé le directorat du département de français. De concert avec ses enseignants, un programme de lecture et d'écriture favorisant créativité et autonomie a vu le jour. De plus, une programmation en Art dramatique fut instaurée.

Paul completed a doctoral degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, with a research focus on school-based change. In addition, he is a faculty lecturer at McGill University in reading methods for elementary pre-service teachers. Terry has worked for the EMSB as ELA consultant, Arts consultant and Preschool (pre-k and Kdg.) consultant. She is also an active member of the Provincial Advisory Council of Teachers of English and the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of women educators.

With 30 years’ experience in the mental health field, Barbara brings state of the art support services to schools and families throughout Quebec. Her “whole child” orientation encourages collaboration and strength based practice. She has acted as a consultant to Health Canada and has taught at McGill University in Social Work and Education. Barbara currently leads the professional development of all EMSB guidance counsellors.She is a sought after speaker to School Boards, teachers and families.
