Creating positive classroom climates is the key ingredient for academic and social success of students. This presentation will focus on key approaches to adopt within the classroom that will foster optimal learning for students. Understanding the underlying functions of certain behaviors and best evidence based practices in working with challenging students will be presented. Concrete strategies on creating positive classroom contexts and resolving conflicts with students will be discussed. Case studies will be used to effectively demonstrate the implementation of strategies in practice.
