Using Literature Circles in the classroom: built in divergence

The goal of this workshop is to acquaint teachers with the benefits of using Literature Circles in the classroom as a way of reaching out to the various needs of different students. Teachers will learn how to choose books, creating "Book Talks" to help their students choose the right book for them, as well as the many different roles students can find in lit circles and how to match the role to the child. Activities include choosing books to create Lit circles thematically and trying out various roles themselves in groups.
