The participants of this workshop will learn the applied behavioral approach to language and social skills. The workshop will describe how the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) apply to the development of language and social skills, the importance of the behavioral classification in the treatment of language delays. It will present the most effective tools for the assessment of language and social skills and the development of intervention. This workshop is designed for the professional development of teachers, educators, early childhood interventionists, and other professionals who work with children. Children with language delays are at risk of social impairment, victimization, or learning difficulties. They present extraordinary challenges to the educators in daycare. This workshop will guide the educators to learn the concepts of an evidence-based approach to teaching language to children and prevent the worsening of the consequences related to delays in language and social skills.
